How verification works
We never show a check as "verified" unless it has a record behind it.
The process
- A business uploads evidence (e.g. insurance certificate, ID, company registration).
- The check shows as Pending while a THD reviewer looks at it.
- The reviewer marks it Verified (with an expiry date), Rejected or Requires action and records notes.
- When a check passes its expiry date it automatically shows as Expired and the badge disappears.
Prototype note: evidence upload is not connected to secure file storage yet — the prototype records a reference only. Real identity checks would use a third-party provider (REQUIRES EXTERNAL API) and need legal review.
What each badge means
- Identity Verified
- Valid for a set period after approval.
- Business Verified
- Valid for a set period after approval.
- Insurance Verified
- Valid for a set period after approval.
- Qualifications Verified
- Valid for a set period after approval.
- VAT Registered
- Valid for a set period after approval.
- Trade Verified
- Valid for a set period after approval.
- THD Verified Supplier

What verification does not mean
THD verification is not a guarantee of workmanship. Always agree scope and price in writing and check credentials relevant to your job.
